DBE Sites

The Society has Chapters in each organised State. Seven eligible members are required to start a new Chapter. At present we have approximately 240 chapters. The Chapters have monthly meetings of no less than eight a year, and no meetings through the Summer months. Fundraising events, socials and outings are scheduled according to the Chapter's needs and interests.

Each State is administered by a Board of officers elected from the membership, and includes a delegate from each Chapter in the State. The Society has organised Chapters in 32 states. California, due to the large population, is divided into three "mini" States for ease of administration.

In States or cities where the Society has no representation, eligible women may join the Society as Members at Large. The Society will assist such members to locate and contact potential members in their area.

The states are organised into four Districts in the United States; the East, the Midwest, the West, and the South. The governing body of the organisation is the National Board which is elected every three years and rotates through the four geographical Districts.

  •            The National Board holds a convention each May at different locations, here State Presidents, delegates and members gather to discuss the business of the Society.
